Premier League in Europe

The second legs of the European cup competitions take place this week. Chelsea can shock the world if the underperforming Blues can overcome a two-goal deficit versus Real Madrid when the sides line up Tuesday for a Champions League match at Stamford Bridge. Manchester City, meanwhile, brings a three-goal advantage into its Wednesday match at Bayern Munich. Erling Haaland leads this year’s Champions League with 11 goals to date. Manchester United travels to Sevilla Thursday for a Europa League rematch with the two clubs level on two goals apiece after the first leg at Old Trafford. The Red Devils squandered a two-goal lead in the first meeting against the Spanish side which is struggling domestically this season to avoid La Liga relegation. West Ham, having much improved its own domestic standing in recent weeks, tries to keep its European cup hopes alive when the Hammers host Gent on Thursday for the second leg of their Europa Conference League tie. The two clubs drew 1-1 in Belgium last week.
